In conjunction with Penduline Press, Common Grounds Coffeehouse, 4321 SE Hawthorne Blvd. in Portland, will be hosting a regular reading series on Wednesdays.
On Wednesday, December 4th at 7:30 p.m., Penduline will present its first-ever Penduline Poetry Series, featuring new work by Portland poets Kate Dreyfus, Jenny Forrester, Sherri Streicher, and Bonnie Ditlevsen.
Come to Common Grounds on Wednesday, December 11th for the second segment of the Penduline Reading Series, featuring Issue 10 contributor Nina Rockwell, Issue 2 contributor Jessica Starr, Issue 1 Featured Writer Jenny Forrester, Laura Green, Kate Dreyfus, and others.
On Wednesday, December 18th at 7:30 p.m., Penduline will welcome local writers to its holiday Festival of Quickwrites. These are readings of stories written on the fly by students in Ariel Gore’s Literary Kitchen as well as by other talented Portland-area writers and poets. Featuring Nina Rockwell, Jenny Forrester, Emily Newberry, Jessica Starr, Temple Lentz, Bonnie Ditlevsen, Jennifer Fulford, and possible others.
Start the New Year with some hilarious standup! Whitney Johnson of the Brody Theater will be hosting a Standup/Open Mic on Wednesday, January 8th, at 7:30 p.m.
